PRIVACY STATEMENT
Short version: the only personal data we collect is what you type into the contact form, we use it to answer you, and we don't sell it or send you anything you didn't ask for. This page spells out the rest.

Improv Audio, Boterbloemlaan 9, 2381 JJ Zoeterwoude, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under 27374338, is the controller of the personal data described here.
For anything about your data, email info@builderinspect.com.
If you fill in the contact form we receive the name, company, role, email address and message you enter, plus which language you were reading the site in. We use these only to reply to your request and, if it goes that way, to arrange a demo.
If you order on invoice, we also receive the billing address, your VAT number where you give one, the licences you selected and any notes you add. We need these to issue a valid invoice and to send your licence key. We never see your card or bank details: if you pay by card, that happens at the payment provider, and if you pay by transfer, the payment reaches our bank, not this website.
If you tell us which trade you are in using the short form on the pricing page, we receive that one choice and your email address - nothing else. We use it to work out which trade to build a version for next, and to let you know if we build it.
Our hosting provider also records standard technical data when any page is served - IP address, browser type, time of the request. This is ordinary server logging, used to keep the site running and secure.
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, we do not profile visitors, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
When you send the contact form, we process your data to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The server logging rests on our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you buy a licence, we process your details to carry out the contract you entered into (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Once an invoice exists, Dutch tax law requires us to keep it and the details on it, so from that point the basis is a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
The trade question rests on our legitimate interest in knowing which market to build for next (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Answering it is entirely optional, and we write to you about that one subject only.
If we ever want to add you to a mailing list or send you anything you did not ask for, we will ask for your explicit permission first.
We use a small number of suppliers, who act on our instructions:
That is the whole list. Everything else this site needs - the typefaces, and the code that builds your spreadsheet exports - is served from our own domain rather than pulled from an outside network. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or a content delivery network, so simply visiting a page, or using the demo, sends your details to no one but us.
Builder Inspect runs entirely on your own device. Your photos, surveys, measurements and exports are held in your browser's own storage and never reach us - there is no account, no sign-in, and no server we could store them on even if we wanted to. That is also why a backup file is worth making: we cannot recover anything for you, because we never had it.
The one exception is the message described above, sent once when you activate a licence key. Beyond that the app makes no network requests at all, which is what lets it keep working on a scaffold with no signal.
Contact-form enquiries are kept for two years after our last contact with you, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us. Server logs are kept for the short period our hosting provider retains them. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will.
Invoices are the exception, and we have no discretion here. Dutch tax law obliges us to keep our books - including each invoice and the name, address and VAT number on it - for seven years. Within that period we cannot delete an invoice at your request, even though we can delete anything that is not part of it. After seven years it goes.
Trade enquiries are kept until we have either built that version or decided not to, and in any case no longer than two years.
This site sets no tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click away. It does store one small item in your browser - your language choice - so the site opens in the same language next time. That stays on your own device, is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit what we do with it, or hand it over in a portable form. You can also object to our processing. Email info@builderinspect.com and we will respond within one month.
If you think we are mishandling your data, you are entitled to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
If how we handle data changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
